Although many of our customers prefer fully assembled and painted skulls, those who are a bit crafty or who want to save a penny or two opt for printed blocks, ready to assemble. “ As a science communicator, the most important thing to me is the scientific accuracy of the fossil replicas I am presenting to the public. And I have been in the market of fossil casts for close to 20 years. And I truly feel like 3d printing is one of the biggest breakthroughs in reproducing museum quality pieces for both display and education. But in order for this to work well for someone like me, you need a talented artist who knows what he’s doing and how to paint these fossils to look real.
I have worked with Nathan on several projects over the years. Both as a customer and as a promoter through my YouTube channel. And I have been beyond thrilled with the results every single time! I currently have four pieces by him. The Utahraptor ostrommaysi, (That I often can be seen walking around events with it on my shoulder) Ankylosaurus magniventris, Amphicyon giganteus and Tyrannosaurus rex. All have been done in full size 1:1 scale and every single one has blown me away by the level of detail and accuracy. Now, I know not everyone can realistically keep a full size T rex skull in their house, but Nathan has done this specifically because that’s what I asked for. He is full willing to work with people and make scaled models at whatever size works best for you!
However, if the room isn’t an issue for you, but the cost of getting a full size dinosaur skull seems too daunting, then I will tell you that this is by far the most affordable way to get one. And the craftsmanship of the Cackling Crow is well worth your money!"
